Tim Ware was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and now resides in Boynton Beach, Florida. His father, Barney Ware, was a lawyer and one of the founders of Cotton States Insurance Company and was the first president of the Georgia Cotton Producer's Association. His mother, Martha Linder Ware, was a homemaker and the source of his sense of humor. Tim went to Duke University on a tennis scholarship where he majored in finance and received a minor degree in drama. After graduation, he went to work for the Coca-Cola Company where he worked closely with the finance committee in International Relations. After four years, he left Coca-Cola for a tour of duty in the United States Marine Corps. Upon leaving the Marines, he opted not to return to corporate life, but chose a career as a firefighter. As Captain for the City of Decatur Fire Department, he spent his off time playing golf and flying. It was at this time, he was offered the opportunity to act at a local dinner theater. A talent agent saw him in a performance of "Don't Drink the Water" and signed him to a contract that evening. His first audition landed him a part in a pilot for a series directed by Rod Amateau, titled Six Pack (1983) (TV), starring a then-unknown actor, Don Johnson.He has worked with academy award winners Reese Witherspoon in Walk the Line (2005), Charlize Theron in Monster (2003) and _Denzel Washington' in both Remember the Titans (2000) and Out of Time (2003/I). Noted director, John Erman, cast him in Carolina Skeletons (1991) (TV), "Queen" (1993) and "Scarlett" (1994). Other television mini-series included A Passion for Justice: The Hazel Brannon Smith Story (1994) (TV) with Jane Seymour and LBJ: The Early Years (1987) (TV) with Randy Quaid. After appearing as numerous characters on the television series, "In the Heat of the Night" (1988), Carroll O'Connor tapped him for the recurring role as lawyer "Ben Taylor" in the final two seasons.In the feature film, Grilling Bobby Hicks (2009), Ware plays the title role opposite his daughter, Courtney Cole-Fendley. He can also been seen in Recount (2008) (TV), Last Time Forever (2006), Canvas (2006) and The List (2007/I) with his good friend Malcolm McDowell. Coming out in April 2009 he plays Mark Shelby in Tim Disney's "American Violet" with Michael O'Keefe, Tim Blake Nelson, Will Patton, Alfre Woodard, Charles Dutton, Nichole Baharie and Exhibit. He recently finished "Leaves of Grass" written and directed by Tim Blake Nelson, starring Edward Norton, Richard Dryfuss, Susan Sarandon and Tim Blake Nelson.Ware will also be producing several movies; "Double Image" a screenplay written by he and his wife, Dee;and "Fine Irish Whiskey" written by he and Peter Bellwood.
