Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Lesley-Ann Brandt is fast becoming one of the hottest South African exports via New Zealand. Lesley-Ann immigrated with her parents and younger brother to Auckland New Zealand in 1999. She started her career as a model and soon drew the attention of local casting directors who encouraged her to get into acting classes. In 2008 with a stream of local and international TV commercials on her resume and having taken the advice by working with various NZ and Australian acting coaches, Lesley-Ann landed her first lead role in the hit television series 'Diplomatic Immunity', starring opposite Craig Parker (of Spartacus, Lord of the Rings and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans), quickly moving her into the hearts of the nation.Brandt is now commanding the world take notice with her role as "Naevia" in the breakout Starz hit, Spartacus: Blood and Sand (2010). Working with Producers Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and actors John Hannah ( The Mummy), Peter Mensah (300 and Avatar), Lucy Lawless (Xena), Lesley-Ann captivated audiences with her performance, and has become one of the shows break out stars.Brandt continued to worked on back to back projects, two of which air d on US television. A guest role on "This is not My Life" (2010), picked up by Lionsgate, a guest role on ABC's "Legend of the Seeker" (2010) and her film debut in the feature "Hopes and Dreams" (2010). 2010 saw Brandt shoot her first US feature "Insight",directed by Richard Gabai and starring Natalie Zea, (Justified), Christopher Lloyd, (Back to the Future), Veronica Cartwright, (Witches of Eastwick) and Sean Patrick Flanery.In as little as two years, Lesley-Ann has sky rocketed onto international television as Spartacus launched in 22 countries (2010). Lesley-Ann reprised her role as Naevia in the Spartacus prequel: "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena" (2011) and continues to grow her body of work with a recurring role on CSI New York (2011).Lesley-Ann is fluent in Afrikaans and has played representative field hockey.
